| Finally, a mod to increase the range on everyone's favorite
primary! Well, everyone's favorite inside primary, anyway :).
This mod is really hard to get done, not because of the
technical skills, but because of the stupid hose clamps Nerf
uses that are tough to get back together. Anyway, on with the
mod!

The powerclip. The case looks stupid. I'm going to paint it
black one of these days. Open it up. There are some screws that
are different sizes. You may want to separate these from the
rest. I didn't, and I haven't had any problems. The screws in
this gun are also prone to having their heads broken off, so go
slowly.

Here it is open. You can now take the clip out.

Using a hobby knife or something, cut out the x-men symbols on
the back of the clip. I have done this, and now I can shoot
stefans and the range is a little better.

The infamous removable clip mod. I haven't done this because I
only have one PC and I don't want the clip falling out. If you
want removable clips, file, cut, or sand those ridges on the end
of the clip down so they're flush with the rest of the clip.

Here is the hose clamp on the air bladder. You're going to hate
this thing by the time we're done. Unscrew those screws and take
the two halves of the clamp off.

Here I've taken the clamp off and you can see the air release
valve. You need to get that out. It's in there pretty tight: I
recommend taking the pole section of a screwdriver and prying it
out. Try not to scratch or damage it, because you'll need it
later. Don't use pliers :).

OK, here the air release valve is out. Now, you want to use a
sharp knife and cut about one inch off the end of the air
bladder. If you cut more off, you'll get more range at the cost
of less shots. If you cut less off, you get more shots with less
range. The guy who actually created this mod says that one inch
is the best length.

Here I've cut the inch of the air bladder off. You won't need
the part you cut off.

Put the air release valve back in. This is a lot easier than
taking it out; just push it in and it goes in. Next is where it
really gets tough.

Now you need to put the hose clamp back on. This is tough.
Take one of the screws that goes to it and put it in the
top-right hole. Screw it down (this shouldn't be that hard). Now
do the other top screw. Don't screw them in all the way--about
half way is good. Too little and they'll come out, too much and
you won't be able to get the bottom screws in. Believe me, you
will have plenty of times to get it right ;).

Here I have the top screws in. Now comes the hard part.

I used a pair of pliers to hold the sections together while I
screwed the screw in. If you can, get a friend to hold the
pliers. If you can't, brace the bottom handle on the casing of
the PC and screw the screw in with your other hand.

I've done it!!! At this stage in the mod you will want to damn
everyone at Nerf to hell. Of course, it's your choice to do this
mod. You still won't be happy. I wasn't. Anyway, make sure the
screws are tight so that it won't leak.
Put everything back together and take it outside, and you
will (hopefully) see a 33% increase in range! Apparently,
accuracy is decreased a little, but it's more than worth it. I
recommend this mod if you want to use your PC outdoors, but
inside, a stock PC is just fine. If you only play inside, don't
do this mod; it's too much trouble. I love it though :).
