Rachetblast Mod
This was one of my favorite trooper weapons for inside duty. But, when I started playing outside, this gun went into the "never used" pile. Why? Because it was useless. Unmodded, the gun has virtually no range. Since I really don't play much inside anymore, I made the gun into a longer-range single-shot weapon. This is virtually the same mod as on the Shadow Company website, but my pics are nicer :). Also, it's nice to have all the mods in one place, which is what I'm trying to achieve.

This gun is a bitch to take apart and put back together. Or at least most people think so. I don't have many problems with it. Anyway, common knowledge is that it's a bad idea to open a Ratchetblast. Just do it slowly, and don't lose anything that pops out, and you'll be fine. It should look like the pic, by the way :).

You need to take off the orange barrels seen to the left, then pull the whole green/white plunger tube assembly out. Take the green part off and discard it.

Here's what the gun looks like, as well as the white plunger tube. That grey thing is a sticker--peel it off. Now you need to cut a hole in the top of the plunger tube. Don't make it too big--try to make it about the same size as the inside diameter of a piece of 1/2" sched 40 PVC.

Here's my hole. I cut it a little big, but if you do so as well, it's not big deal.

Hot glue a 5 inch piece of 1/2" sched 40 PVC to the plunger tube. You may want a shorter or longer barrel, but I think 5 inches is just about right.

Reinforce it with duct tape. This is especially important if, like me, you cut your hole too big.

Put it back together, carefully. It helps to set it on the edge of a table, like I've done here. Make sure the main spring is behind the barrier and that the sight is in place. The sight crosshairs form an integral part of the gun, so make sure they are where they need to be. Be careful and do this part right.

Finished! The gun should shoot pretty well. Don't stuff the darts too far down the barrel as they might go into the plunger chamber.
